  1. What server software are you running?
    We use RedHat 7.1 on our servers.
     
  2. Can I access my domain address with or without the "www"?
    Yes, you will be able to access the domain address with or without the "www" in front of the domain name. Example: [http://www.your-name.com] or [http://your-name.com] is acceptable, whichever you prefer.
     
  3. Can I transfer existing domain name to your servers?
    Yes, if you email us at sales@lucyhost.com we will give you instructions on how to do this.
     
  4. How long does it take before my domain name is active?
    Once the InterNIC announces that your domain name has been registered (or transferred, if applicable), it usually takes about 72-hours before it is active. All Internet providers must update their records (DNS tables) to reflect the new site's location.
     
  5. When I order who will the domain be registered to?
    We always register domain names to the person listed on the order form.
     
  6. How long does a domain name registration last for?
    For a .com .net or .org it is for the period you choose 1-10 years.


  7. Can I use my hosting account for commercial purposes ?
    Yes, you can use your account for commercial purposes. The World Wide Web has become the most efficient and cost-effective means of making information available to the users of the Internet community and we encourage our customers to utilise such an enormous medium
     
  8. What is the bandwidth allocation on your hosting accounts?
    We offer 1GB Transfer per month for every 25 MB Web Space. If you have
    300 MB Web space, monthly transfer will be 5GB, for 500 MB Web Space
    10 GB data transfer per month and so on...

     
  9. Are there any hidden costs for the domain name?
    No! The price listed is the price that you will pay, all fees are included


  10. Which FTP software do you recommend?
    We recommend Cute FTP or WS_FTP. You can download either one of these from http://www.download.com/ also many ftp programs are easily available with the free CD's provided with computer magazines.

     
  11. Do your hosting accounts support SSI?
    Yes this is turned on by default.
     
  12. Do you provide any cgi-scripts with your hosting packages?
    Not at the moment but we do plan on adding some in the future.


  13. Do you support ASP?
    Yes, our server supports ChilliSoft ASP scripts. file extension of ASP script should be ".asp".
     
  14. Do you support PHP?
    Yes, our server supports PHP scripts. File extension of "php" scripts should be ".php".
     
  15. Do you support FrontPage 2000 server extensions?
    Yes, This is available free for all hosting accounts.

     
  16. Where is Perl located on the server?
    Perl can be found at /usr/bin/perl


  17. What is the Perl extension?
    All perl files should have extension ".pl"
     
  18. Where is Sendmail located?
